Are all auto glass installations the same?

No, a quality installation begins with the removal of your old glass. If this is not done properly by an experienced installer the result could be disastrous. All of our installers have a minimum of 10 years experience, are NGA certified and use the most up to date tools and procedures available. This ensures your new glass will display the same appearance and structural integrity as it did the day it left the factory.

Are there different qualities of glass?

Yes, at PGI we buy our glass primarily from Pilkington, the largest manufacturer of OEM glass in the world. OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer. This means the glass was made by a company who supplies the vehicle manufacturer with  glass installed at the factory. OEM glass has the same appearance, fit and function as the original glass in your vehicle. Some companies look for the cheapest glass available, regardless of whether or not it conforms to your vehicle manufacturers specifications. There can be common problems with the fit, clarity and functionality of the inferior product. This almost always results in a sub-standard installation
How long will it take to install my new glass?

Most installations can be completed in about an hour, however in some cases up to 3 hours may be required.

How soon after the installation can I drive my car?

The urethane adhesive used to install most stationary windows requires a minimum of one hour to cure before your vehicle can be driven. We stress this is the minimum wait time and often recommend waiting longer when possible.

I've received lower quotes than yours, Why?

Not all glass companies are the same. In some cases our prices are the lowest and sometimes we may be slightly higher. We refuse to cut corners, use cheap materials or employ installers that are new to the industry, this may cause our price to be slightly higher than some other shops.  We always consider the cost of materials and labor and make every effort to find a way to save our customers money without compromising the safety and appearance of the installation. Ask yourself, do you always buy the cheapest product available? Do you look for the least expensive Doctor when faced with an illness or injury? Experience and Quality does matter! We could be the cheapest if we were willing to cut corners by using the cheapest glass & materials available and hire less experienced installers. However, we will not compromise our mission to provide our customers with quality, safe installations at a competitive price.
Does PGI install used windshields?

No, used windshields compromise the safety of your vehicle. Due to the fact that a used windshields origin and history are not known there is no way to determine what type of adhesive was used when it was originally installed. In some cases the windshield may have been replaced using unsafe materials. This creates a contamination issue and ultimately can result in an unsafe installation. We scrub the bonding surface to remove contaminates of every new windshield before we prime and install it. This provides us first hand knowledge that the adhesive bond holding your windshield in place is strong enough to function properly in the event of a collision. Ask us for a price on a new windshield and you will find that it doesn't cost much more to insure a quality windshield replacement and peace of mind!
My windshield leaks, can you fix it?

If your windshield has been replaced we suggest you contact the shop that installed it and have them fix the problem at no additional cost to you. If they can not or will not remedy the problem or you are not the original owner of the the vehicle , we can help. You need to be aware extensive labor and a new windshield may be required. In most cases a new glass is required for contamination reasons (See above - used windshield section for explanation). There are several reasons why a windshield may leak including but not limited to; improper installation, bad urethane or adhesive placement, to little urethane adhesive, uneven placement of the adhesive, lack of primers or most often, rust.   If rust is present it must be removed before we can proceed with the installation. Severe rust must be repaired by a body shop. In all cases the windshield must be properly inspected before a solution to the problem can be determined.
